Our Community Hunger Center’s 2021 Annual Report

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide emergency food assistance, personal hygiene items, paper products, household supplies, and clothing to residents living in Northern Summit, Cuyahoga, and Portage Counties.

Our Vision

Our vision is simple, but basic: to treat everyone needing assistance as we would treat one of our family members in need. Our goal is to provide our clients each month with a seven-day supply of nutritious food, personal hygiene items, and paper and household supplies. We have regular quantities of a variety of meat, chicken, dairy, fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, rolls, and baked goods to distribute to our recipients.  We assist individuals and families for as long as there is a need.

 Dear Friends,

We have been here 10 years!

May 2013 we opened Our Community Hunger Center at 9733 Ravenna Road just off the square in downtown Twinsburg. Thanks to the over 5000 individuals, businesses, churches, schools, and student groups who have partnered with us 36,039 local residents have received a 7-day supply of nutritious food...the equivalent of nearly 756,819 meals. These results do not include the countless individuals blessed by our daily institutional bread program made possible by the kindness of Giant Eagle and Costco. Also not included are the nearly 1200 area-residents who participate in our Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Programs.

Our remarkable growth continues! In 2021 with the help of stores like Giant Eagle and Costco,  we provide a 7-day monthly supply of food & hygiene item to 1066 individulas. There were 185 new families in 2021. Our Community Hunger Center relies solely on community support. We receive no federal or state funding.

Because we are a "Choice Pantry" member agency of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank those we assist are able to select from a wide choice of food options. These include meat, poultry, vegetables, fruit and bread and bakery. In addition to these benefits we are the only Twinsburg based food pantry that provides a 7-day supply of food each month to those who qualify.  We are the only Twinsburg food pantry available every weekday from 10:00-3:00 to help our neighbors in need. Being a member of the food bank gives us access to some food items at subsidized prices.

We are an independent non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charity and rely entirely on public support. We thank our current donors and ask for their continued support.
